You have probably already heard about the London Games Festival in one way or another by now, but if not then all you need to know is that it is an international celebration of video games and interactive entertainment, as well as a major supporter of game development in the city of London and beyond.

After an entirely digital festival in 2021, this year sees the first physical event since 2019 and with it, an opportunity for the digital art of virtual photography to be seen in the real world by some of the anticipated 100,000 visitors.

Trafalgar Square Takeover:

As continual innovators in finding ways to engage people with games – check out the exclusive selection of cloud streaming new game demos by the way – London Games make it possible to champion virtual photography as a showcase installation in London's world famous Trafalgar Square from the 1st - 3rd April.

Presented on imposing cuboids standing over 2m tall and with room for 20 images, the public exhibit displayed a curated selection of finalist images from The 2021 VP Awards. Proudly sharing space along side the iconic Nelson's Column for all to see, it was a joy to see this digital artwork reaching new people and even inspiring children to have their photograph taken next to a favourite shot. I simply love the fact that the last few days have seen people of all ages and backgrounds learn a little more about virtual photography!
